The Judson Volleyball lady Rockets made a strong showing this weekend at the NEISD Volleyball Tournament, wrapping up Week 1 of the season with an overall record of 3-4, just falling short to Hays the previous Tuesday night in their season opener. The team demonstrated resilience and skill, securing victories against Fredericksburg, Roosevelt, and Southwest High School.
Judson started the tournament with a competitive edge, showcasing their teamwork and determination. The victories against Fredericksburg and Roosevelt were particularly hard-fought, with the team’s defense and communication on the court playing crucial roles. In the match against Southwest High School, Judson’s offensive strategy shined, with precise serves and big defensive plays leading the way.
Despite facing tough opponents in the other matches against Brennan, Boerne, and Fredericksburg a second time, the team maintained their composure and displayed significant progress in their gameplay, setting a solid foundation for the rest of the season.
Coach Alexander expressed pride in the team's performance, noting that the tournament provided valuable experience and insight into areas for growth. "This weekend was a great opportunity for us to see where we stand and what we need to work on," said Coach Alexander. "The girls fought hard, and we're looking forward to building on this as we continue through the season."
With a phenomenal start of the year, Judson Volleyball is eager to carry the momentum into week 2 as they face the Incarnate Word High School lady Shamrocks Tuesday (August 20,2024) night and continue on to the “Warrior Showcase” at Pieper High School this upcoming weekend, where the Varsity team will look to add to their win column and keep the momentum going strong.
